Replace a OKI C650 Fuser Unit
Installing a replacement fuser unit is easy, just follow the simple steps below. For for more detailed help, try our knowledge base article on how to Replace a C650 Fuser Unit. The instructions that follow assume you are directly facing the front of your OKI printer.
After the transfer belt moves toner onto your plate media, the fuser unit fixes it into place. Despite having a large life cycle, eventually it will wear out and notify you on the control panel. This is when you need to order a replacement fuser if you don’t have one. The message will change and prompt you to replace it once it is finished, it may even stop printing.
Step 1: Remove the Used Fuser
To install a new fuser, you’ll have to remove the existing one first.
Your C650 fuser unit is located on top of the unit, right behind the output tray. To remove the fuser, first unlock it by lifting up the blue handles located on its sides. Now use the two blue handles and lift it up out of the machine. Simply place it aside for later disposal or recycling.
Step 2: Install the Fuser Unit
Now unpack & install your new fuser.
Next remove the packaging from your replacement unit. Take care not to touch the rollers on its bottom and don’t expose it to light for more than 5 minutes. Carefully lower it into the printer, using the blue handles. Then when it’s in position, lock it in place by pushing blue handles down until they click. Your printer can start to detect the new fuser.
