Stick with Us
Stick with Us for compliancy matters as we try to clear up some recent confusion. Since the new number plate British standard BSAU 145e became law in September 2021, there has been a degree of misinterpretation and debate as to what precisely the new restrictions are. Especially when it comes to fitting new number plates.

Fitting New Number Plates – BSAU145e
Tennants customers have always been able to rely on us for guidance and advice via our Knowledge Base and customer service. However, one point which still appears to be particularly contentious is the guidelines for fixing plates to vehicles. But happily, this is something we can clear up right now.
Simply put, wherever possible a new number plate should be fitted using adhesive pads. And drilling holes and using screws should be avoided. Where this is not possible, it is acceptable to fit them mechanically. But your screws or bolts must be positioned outside of the readable area of the registration. Which means fixed at the ends or in the corners.
